about me.

I was trying to think of a clever way to introduce my name but I got nothin... so my name is Rachel Wallick. I'll start with the classic details. I'm from Baltimore Maryland, got a Bachelor of Social Work from James Madison University. I'm currently studying at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics- an amazing one (or two for the Masters) year program geared at intensive training in apologetics and evangelism.
So yes, I'm living in Oxford, England. I still reality check sometimes.

Describing yourself can sometimes be a funny process-

who you are is so much more than what you do. so, since i'll be

sharing a lot about what i'm passionate about, thinking about,
and learning in my posts... I thought I would just share some
short descriptions about who I am and what I love.

being with people. a good cup of coffee. talking with other people
about Jesus. writing. photography. laughing. reading the Bible.
sunshine. hammocks. crafting. the beach. movies. bright colors.
peanut butter and chocolate. music. capturing moments. reading.
getting to know Jesus. finding the deeper meaning in things. fruit.
talking with strangers. banana-grams. funny youtube videos.
espanol. asking questions. MY FAMILY. traveling. having pen pals. learning new things. coffee dates filled with deep
conversation.

a little about my faith and background of the blog name...

I live for an extraordinary God. life walking with Jesus is amazing,
transformative, encouraging, challenging, awe-inspiring, adventurous,
humbling, full of truth...it just makes sense.

my blog was recently called choosing beauty... and after some brainstorming and wanting some fresh ideas i decided to change it. the ideas behind the two names though are very similar. In John 10:10, Jesus says that He came so that we could have life and have life to the full. In Him we can have abundant life. I think He can offer that no matter what our circumstances are, because He offers relationship with Himself. Choosing beauty was based off of choosing to see the beauty that Jesus is weaving in our everyday lives-
choosing to see beauty amongst joy and sorrow.i think that is part of
seeing the abundant life that He gives- but here's the thing- it's from
Him. this blog is really about what it looks life for me to learn more
about a life lived out of the radiant and abundant life Jesus gives.
